har kollat upp angående knackningssensor till M50. enligt ETK så tillkom den på motorn fr.o.m 09/92, den finns med på bild bland tidigare årsmodeller men är inte angiven som reservdel. dom använder väl samma bild till alla årsmodeller av motorer kan jag tänka mig "Brings Me Women" (Hur det ska gå till?) |

Jag kan tänka mig att det finns bilar med knacksensorer som ändå inte är avsedda för det breda område (t.ex 91-98 oktan) som senare motorstyrningar har, men jag är inte säker. Enklast borde vara att kolla i boken resp vid tankluckan vilket oktantal bilen accepterar. FP |

Läste detta på Länk A high-performance chip bumps ignition timing so that high-octane gasoline will become critical. And the lack of knock sensors means that some M42s, if they have carbon buildup on the tops of the pistons, may experience detonation with a chip. However, you can get rid of carbon buildup on the tops of the pistons through aggressive use of a good fuel system additive such as Red Line SI-1, BG44K, Chevron Techron or BMW Gasoline Additive. My regimen for this job is one full bottle of Red Line SI-1 before a full tank of fuel, and 1 ounce of the same product in every tankful after that--forever. U.S. gasoline additive packages suck, and when detergency is of paramount importance, such as in a car with 10.5:1 compression, no knock sensors,and aggressive ignition timing, we need to mix our own gasoline additive package--that is the simple harsh reality. No, you can't add knock sensors to an old M42. You have to pony up for high-octane gasoline, and, with a chip, mix your own additive package. On the bright side, the 318is doesn't use much fuel. There is no need to do anything with the ignition system, except perhaps a preventative igntion coil replacement in the 120,000-mile range (also a good time for a new E30 fuel pump and new main and fuel pump relays). Wowie-neato ignition wires are, in my opinion, unnecessary on BMWs. The factory parts are high-performance parts. Har inte M42 inte knacksensor??? |
