At the expense of cash and time - It will work out.

Thanks for the helpful tip for IDH. I bought the HR springs anyway - damn they look good - unfortunately they are still lying in the box and not on the corners of my car.

Well BMW are going to do the work now.

Is there any rubbing issues at the front with 245/40 18's with the HR springs? I just want to know - in case I am forced to buy tires - I might change the front if this is the case - if there is rubbing, do you need to stop driving as it is too dangerous?

I can't say if there will be broblems whith your front tires.
I run 235/40-18 on 8" rims with the right offset on a 60/40 lowered chassie,it is tight, but there is no rubbing.
I have experiensed som rubbing on some of my previus Beemers but only on the rear axle.
I think you should have no rubbing at all,just to be on the safe side.
What did the guys at BMW say when you told them you wanted them to mount the H&R springs?
Jahangeer
Luckily the guys at BMW Karlstad are very understanding of my needs and I am a good customer there (unfortunately), they did the Schrick cams no problem, so they set a precedent of any other items. They did not hesitate in accepting the work when I asked them, which is nice of them as I know they can refuse.

I will definitley do that - I rode in Mfemman's car and thought it was absolutely superb, if my car handles anything near like that I will be happy.

Jahangeer:

That was really unfortunate...

Its great that you will keep the EDC system, with new dampers, swaybar and the Nürburgring swich the handling will amazing!

Im glad you liked my car, I loved the sound and power from your engine, I still dream about the sweetspot at 6000 rpm ;), too bad the cops spoiled my fun on the test drive...

How much vill the new dampers cost?

I send you a PM with the pictures.

The Dampers will cost 9300kr each - but I get 10% off, woopydoo!
So I am counting on a total of around 22-23000kr. Luckily I have a BMW card, otherwise I would be up sh!t creek without a paddle.

Also on the papers I got with the HR springs, there is mention of "dammskydd" and "genomslagsgummin" - what are these?

I did not get the arches rolled - I totally forgot to ask them if they could do this, I thought about it on the way back, and cursed - I could have at leaast done that.
Anyway those HR springs look amazing and I cannot wait to get them on.

Your car really impressed me with its smooth delivery of power and it just kept going all the way to 7900, amazing! but what impressed me more was the suspension and brakes. As soon as I have recovered from the shock of my EDC shocks (ha ha), I will invest in the brakes and pads.

Got the mail Thanks john, damn Philippa is cute.

I just got my EDC switch in the post also - so I will try to figure out how to connect it sometime this weekend.

Jahangeer.

That was some expensive parts!
Maybe you won`t need to have your wheelarches rolled?
Afterall,isent M femman riding on 10"wide rims and H&R springs without
any rubbing.
Jahangeer:

genomslagsgummin = absorber
dammskydd = rubber boot
