BMW är ingenjörskonst i den högre skolan! This is how it works! The mirror heating is controlled by the body electronics (computer modules) - with no relation to rear window defrost operation which is still manually triggered. Each mirror is controlled by the module in its door, and these are programmed by the general module according to the outdoor temp (as read by the sensor under the front bumper and read in your dash) There are 4 stages of heating "duration" (duration being the application of power for a percentage of total time) Temperature - Heating (duration of power) - below 10C 100% (always on) - 10C to 0C 75% - 1C to 15C 50% - 16C to 25C 25% - above 25C 0% (off) So you can see that the heating is used across a full temperature range, and does not totally quit till it is above 25C (which is why your mirrors seem to dry with spots even in warm weather) Note - the above program was for the 97 model. I suspect it is still the same but these things do get modified over time. Later models may have different temperature points. The nozzled heating is controlled by the climate control system. It is turned on when the outdoor temp drops below 3C, and is turned off when the temp goes above 6C. The heating also goes off if the battery voltage drops below 11.4 degrees. I do not know where the power relays are for this - probably either under the dash or in the Ebox with the engine comuter. Mvh, Steaman | |

Kan inte se varför man ska värma backspeglarna när det inte finns frostrisk... På min 535i -90 hade jag uppvärmda speglar och spolmunstycken men de aktiverades inte förrän man låste upp bilen.(om det var < +3 grader) |

Nej, jag har aldrig haft problem med imma på ytterspeglarna. Kartoffeln und sauerkraut - Jawohl! |
