What oil i should use? How many liters of oil does it take ? | |

5,75 liters Regarding oil, there are as many as there are well, whatever... Try to find out what kind of oil was in it before. A full change from lets say mineral oil to fully synthetic might be a hassard, if so, fill it it up with fully synthetic, and then change again after a couple of 1000k. I would suggest Fully synthetic oil, any brand will do i.e. Castrol SLX 0-30W, Shell formula 5-40W or Mobil 1 just to mention a few. *BAWORAK* |

Older engines/worn engines don’t always work well with the lightest oils depending on mechanical tolerances. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend the lightest synthetic oils in M40-engine. (for an example 0W30 or 5W30) Choose heavier oil, like 0W40, 5W40 or 5W50. The interesting SAE-value is the last digits (40 and 50). The brand doesn’t matter as long as the classifications are the right. I recommend that you buy synthetic quality oil with following classifications: API SJ and ACEA A3 or API SL and ACEA A3 The "flushing" with synthetic oil is not necessary if the oil doesn’t turn black very quickly. In case of that, change the oil (and the filter) within 2000-3000 km. After that extra oil change: follow normal service intervals. Best regards Mvh BMW – Weltmarke aus München! |
