I am lanning to buy a 318is -90 e30. Some tips about things that i should have my mind on while inspecting it? Any consisting faults on this spesific model? Any help is wellcome :o) | |

Like all other E30:s; RUST! If you can find an E30 without rust between the windshield and the hood and on the inside of the back-hood (right?) then you've probably found quite a piece of E30. The engine seems to be very reliable and so are most of the other mechanic stuff such as gearbox, differential and others. The M42 engine is a bit cranky about getting the right oil though. Make sure the car has been properly served with the right oils, filters and more within the right time and mileage. Bitte benutzen Sie die Suchfunktion. |

There are generally not so many specific problems with the 318is -90. One of the most important things to investigate is the amount of corrosion. Try to get a look from under the car. Try to make some fast gear-changes. There shouldn’t be too much resistance between the gears, or any strange sounds from the transmission. Drive the car on some road-bumbs or on a bad road. Does the suspension feel or sound strange? How does the engine sound? Does it rev smoothly all the way to redline? (Only try this when the oil has reached its working temperature).
