Hello fellow bmw fans. I got one big problem with my car and no one can find out what the problem is. When i start the car it go to miss firing direktly at 1100RPm then it gos down to 600rpm the back up to 1100 rpm and then it runs fine. Also i cant put on halv to full gas on the gas padel because when i do that i go in to limp mode?!?!?!?! Someone got any ide? | |

N53 is unfortunately a engine with a lot of problems. I have one myself. I would guess its the high pressure fuelpump failing (very common) maybe also some bad injectors. (very common also) Other problems with N53 is ignition coils, cracks in valvecover and problems with NOX. You have probably already done an error code scan, what did it say? I used carly for error code scan a while ago. As i can remeber it had like 26 Error codes (cant remeber exactly) i think it was at that range of codes. But after removing the codes i used the car for 3-4 month and i had not got any more fault codes??? I thot this was strange so i went to to car mechanic and he got no errors codes either and i thought this was strange. I have heard of the comon problem as you mentioned and i think could be one of those problems. So before i do anything to the car i thought it was an good idee to ask in this forum before i do anything Thanks for the answer :) |

That was a little bit strange. Does the engine lamp MIL ever go on? If it does, you should have error code stored. It would be intresting to watch live-data of railpressure when you put the pedal down. If it drops, its faulty. I did that on mine and it was no doubt it was faulty. Easy to monitor with Bimmerlink. Yes i hade Engine lamp MIL go on before and it can be fixed realy easy by turning the car off then open the door then turn it on agine but it dose not fix the issue but it helps by geting ride of the lamp. But i notice it happends sometimes when turning on the car for the first time of the day or when i try to put my fot on the gas, it can be realy scary when trying to get up to speed when i turn on to the motorway :( Some more information on what i can notice is fuel problems. One big give away i notice is fuel consumtion but that is something we already mentioned but i notice it can come smoke from bak of the car even at idlee. The smoke is not think like colent leak but its more like how it is in cold weather like winter but this happends even in summer times. But also its wet in the exhaust pipe and its smeels like fuel I will go oute to the car and get more readings from the OBD and se what i can get :) |

Take out the sparkplugs and check them - do they all look the same? Those that dont probably have leaking injectors - which would explain your issues to 90% |
