Hi All, Well this is my first post her. I am from Australia but I now live and work in Seden. I recently fulfilled my teenage dream of one day owning an E39 M5, life is good. To say im actually in love with it would be an understatement. I guess its like climbing Everest, once you get to the top...whats next? Now I recently purchased a pixel repair kit which came with detailed instructions on how to removed the dash cluster and replace the pixel ribbon. I followed the instructions to the letter, but I failed to realize and what the seller failed to advise was that the instructions should not apply to a facelift 2001 e39 M5 because the dam gauge needles do not come off as easily as pre facelift models. So now I have a boken fuel cluster motor and temperature cluster motor. After destroying the motor springs trying to remove the gauge needles I was devastated I likened the feeling I had to how 'Oscar Pretorius must of felt when he shot dead his gorgeous looking wife. Does anyone know of a reputable place in STOCKHOLM where I can take the dash cluster to in order to have it repaired. The leverantor of the pixel kit ignores my plea's and the only other repair company fixing these things is located in the USA. Please someone help fix my pain. | |

Well, I guess you've already realised that you don't actually need to remove the needles... I know it's a little late now, but I can mail alternative instructions if you send me your email address in PowerPost. The instructions include a description of how to drill holes in the face plate in order to reach the necessary screw heads. |
