Hi Guys! I'm about to place my M2 order tomorrow, wanted to consult with you on some equipment options I'm torn between... With no carbon roof option, one- I'm considering the sunroof. Two- electric seats. usually I'm against it as it's just extra weight but in BMWs case I truly HATE the manual adjustment mechanism. With the wife driving the car once in a while it really bothers me. If I were going for a track car only, I'd keep my current project car and get a 328i... So, on one hand I understand the purists that would like to keep the car as light as possible. But, this isn't just any strict-track toy- while I do go for the manual transmission as it's something that is fun for me on a daily basis, so is the sunroof. With this car, in my opinion, the day-to-day joy of it is more important than the 50kg difference on an occasional track day. I guess what I'm wondering is, how do you think this would effect resale value? Will I be limiting myself away from hardcore enthusiasts, or maybe a fully loaded manual transmission will be a unique catch? In any case, I'm sure I would love it! ;) EDIT: Also, What kind of discounts did you guys manage to get? |

I spoke to them yesterday, the car was still available. But I'll be there tomorrow and can double check if anyone is interested. If any of you could refer to my concern above, that would be much appreciated (to sunroof+electric seats, or not?) Cheers |

M.B.: The electric seats is a must, maybe not for resale value but for daily comfort. Also, the M2 is a heavy car (for the type), you wont notice the extra weight. Sunroof is really up to you, I think that there is more people out there that doesn't want it than those who must have it. But the vast majority do not really care. |

Verdi: kontaktade dem för några timmar sedan ang. inbyte med min M3a, tyvärr var den såld idag. M.B. I would not buy a M2 with both of those options, I would however stretch to electric seats, since those are easily replaceable. And I will visit the track, and I never use the sunroof on my M3 so that's just unnecessary weight and headroom. However I think there are M2 customers aswell that wants the lot. I'd say get it how you want it and enjoy it. |

M.B., If you want sunroof and electrical seats then by all means go for it. I haven't but then again I will be the ONLY one driving the car and I don't like sunroofs. :) If it will affect resale value? No idea. You will lose some potenatial buyers but gain others. I don't think it matters much. People will have different tastes. My discount is not official. :) |

One important aspect of the seats is that the electrical seats are significantly higher in their lowest setting than the manual seats. If you like to sit as low as possible, get the manuals. |

Verdi: Är din också LBB 6MT? Lär bara den bästa kombinationen i framtiden om man skall behålla värdet så gott som möjligt. Har ej haft möjligheten att provköra en manuell M2a ännu, men antar att det är det givna valet om man kört manuell M3e46 senaste 3.5 åren. DCTn är dock otroligt bra också. |

Thanks for the input. I will be tracking the car. But feel that as the M2s greatest strength is it's ability to be just a fun all-rounder that I can enjoy driving to a normal business meeting- I think I will be going for the sunroof. I would have passed on the seats but man oh man, are those a handful to manage with an occasional second driver... Think I'll go for the specs as I want them and whatever happens in the future happens. I'll worry about it later, for now I'll just enjoy what I can! Now all that's left is to push the local dealer a bit further. At first I thought they offered a fair deal, but I managed to get a (much) better one from a competitor. Only issue is- it's in another part of the country... For the blue one at forenade- I was offered to but it for 530 without much negotiation. I believe it was possible to scratch off a bit more. |

Isty, Nej, det blir en mineralgrå 6MT med svarta sidogälar och njurar samt M-performance systemet. Hade en LBB med DCT i somras och jag har tröttnat lite på den färgen. Tror mineralgrå ger bilen lite mer elegans. Först var jag inne på svart men det är så himla opraktiskt och så blir det ingen kontrast mot de svarta performance-njurarna som jag tycker är närmast ett måste. |

I would never choose sunroof at an M2, or on any M car. (And hardly electric seats.) I do not understand the benefits of sunroof or when I would ever use it and for what? If I had the choice of my new 5-series, I would have gladly opted out the sunroof, even without the price reduction on the car. |
