Well, today I checked the bolts for the oil pump, 1 in the oilpan + 2 loose and 4 of the bolts that holds the pump together was in the pan too :) So the right time to check it seems :) But there was some slack on the chain to the pump (not so much as it would fall off but more than I like :)). Had forgotten the tightening for the chain was inside the left side bolt hole... but it should be adjusted with an insex thingy... what is that? Is it an Unbrako 8mm key that is put into the bolt-hole and then adjust or? Just if anyone could clarify :) Also noticed when changing sparkplugs that there was oil at the plugs in one side of the engine. Read that it was the camshaft cover pakning, is this true or is it more severe. Last thing... Do you know any good bmw repair shops in either Helsingborg or Malmö, besides BMW themselves? :) Reason I ask is I might drive the car to sweden to have it serviced, it has an oilspill on driver side of engine, and I cant see where it comes from :) | |
| Yes its a Unbrako key that you uses to adjust the chain with , the correct slack is 5mm for the chain. If you have oil around and in the sparkplug holes it is the camshaft cover sealing that leaks and if you change it and it starts to leak again maybe you have some trouble with the enginge breathing system so there is to high pressure inside of the motor. | |
