Hi there. Sorry, I don't speak Swedish, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I am building a high-boost turbo E46 330 in the US and would like to run E85 or E100 ethanol fuel. My problem is I don't know if the US cars can handle this corrosive fuel, but I know you run high ethanol blends in Sweden. My question is: Do the Swedish BMWs have special fuel system parts? Or are they the same as EU/US cars? Thank you! :) | |
| As far as I know is ethanol not especially corrosive at all | |

Hi and welcome! There has been reports of a X5-owner who had his car ruined when running it on E85 fuel. A plating within the fuel pump/fuel tank was resolved by the E85, which lead to fuel system failure = expensive repairs. However, I do not know whether this issue is relevant for the E46. I find it hard to believe that yout US-spec car would have a different fuel system than a Euro-spec one. You can check out www.realoem.com and try to figure out whether the part numbers of the fuel system are the same for a euro VS US spec car. Good luck! Mvh, Kalle ___ Bilarna: Länk |
