Because in CD there is not wiring diagram for my car BMW E36 320i with ECU Siemens MS40, i make my own wiring and only the cable that i can't wire is for crank signal. I wire cables for power for earth for TPS without any problem i cut AFM fire and wire him too without problems and i can adjust fuel but only with trothle deflection because i can't read now engine rpm-s. My crank sensor is 3 wire plus one wire for shield. I try to connect yellow SMT cable to one by one of all three cables but software always show RPM-BAD. I try to adjust win software global seting too, but without any success. I think that my crank sensor is different from Motronic crank sensors and any other Siemens cranks sensors. My Electronic Control Unit(ECU) is Siemens MS40 but you have wiring diagrams only for Siemens MS41 and past models MS42 and etc, what are new models of mine, and ECU pin numbers and almost all sensors are different. Please advice me what i need to do to wire and use my SMT for RPM deflection and ignition correction ? | |

I have no advise for you on how to connect the SMT, but here are a few wiring diagrams for the Siemens MS40 system: Länk |

If you only should read the RPM, you connect the SMT6 yellow wire to the ignition coils negative side. Följ utvecklingen av 535 BiTurbo på Länk |

| OK but if i want to modulate ignition signal, what i need to do, how i need to connect SMT wires to ECU wires | |

There are some modern cars where the SMT6 can't handle the rpm signals... I learned that from the website of one of their distributors. There is a new version available for those, called SMT7. Couldn't it be that this is the problem in this case? |
